Did you know that the orange is a cross between Pomelo and Mandarin? It has been around for at least 2400 years and comes from Eastern China. Today it is the most cultivated fruit in the world and it grows in tropical and subtropical climates.

Production Process Orange Peel Granules

Our ground orange peels (Aurantii dulcis pericarpium) come from Ghana. A fresh orange already tastes delicious, but the granulate of dried orange peels gives off even more flavour. Orange peel granules are therefore ideally suited to give dishes a typical orange flavour. Delicious in combination with black or green tea or with pure rooibos. Orange peel granules can also be used with various types of fish and chicken.

Healthy properties of dried orange peel granules

Dried orange peel contains several phytonutrients including beta-carotene and some flavonoids (eg Naringenin). These flavonoids are antioxidants.

The whole peel of the orange is used for the production of this granulate. So both the orange outer layer and the white inner layer of the peel. The white inner layer contains some substances that taste bitter. The granulate can therefore have a slightly bitter taste.
