Herbs and Spices Whole
Whole Herbs and Spices
You use spice seeds in dishes that require unground seasoning. You let them cook for an extra-long time because these whole varieties release their taste more slowly than ground herbs. At Naturaplaza we offer a very wide selection of unground spices such as cardamom pods, star anise, cloves, pumpkin seeds and whole mustard seeds. On the product pages of our site you can read instructions for each of these herb types. This describes exactly how to process and add the herbal seed. In addition to meals, you can also use some of these spices as a seasoning in coffee, tea, cake and cakes.
100% natural cardamom pods
Cardamom pods are an excellent example of whole spices. 'Elettaria cardamomum', or green cardamom, gives a true taste sensation. It is sweet, sour, fresh, and stimulating at the same time. There are people who describe it as the taste of peppermint drops. In some Asian countries, people sabble on cardamom pods for a breath of fresh air. These legumes grow on a bush of the ginger family. The small black seeds that are inside the pod are largely responsible for the delicious aroma. You use green cardamom pods not only in rice dishes but also in coffee or tea, for example.
Muscat-like taste of Nigella seed
One of our other versatile whole herbs is organic Nigella seed. This herb seed is also known as black cumin, although it has nothing to do with Dutch cumin. Nigella seed is originally from an Indian plant. The seeds are widely used in Turkish, Greek, and Egyptian cuisine. This is partly due to the delicious nutmeg-like taste of black cumin. You can of course grind this herb seed, but also use it to provide your dishes with a beautiful and tasteful decorative accent.
