The Apricot

The apricot is a 6 to 10 metres tall tree, which originates from North-East Asia, it belongs to the plant family Rosacea. Nowadays, the trees are mainly planted in the USA, South Africa and countries around the Mediterranean. Turkey is by far the largest producer of apricots and apricot kernels with a share of 85%. The main part of the kernel consists of oil, which is extracted by pressing the kernels. The oil contains many vitamins (A, B1, B2, B3, B5, B6, C and E) and minerals.

Properties

Organic Apricot Kernel Oil is a mild, non-greasy oil for all skin types. It is quickly absorbed by the skin, does not leave a greasy film and makes the skin soft, supple and smooth. The moisture balance of the skin is brought into balance by the high content of Gamma Lynolenic Acid. It also helps to improve the firmness and elasticity of the skin. Due to its high content of polyunsaturated fatty acids, this oil is often used in nourishing skin preparations. It can be used as baby oil and is also excellent as a massage oil. Use it for chapped, dry, flaky or irritated skin, itching, sunburn and baby care. It can be used around the eyes without any problem.
